KUMANONISUMU！ 2022

「KUMANONISUMU ! 2022」は、三重県の小さな町、熊野で行われるアートプロジェクトです。国内外のアーティストを招聘し、地域の過疎化がもたらす文化的、経済的、生態学的な影響を調査します。アーティストたちは、この地域の見捨てられた空き地に焦点を当て、その場所特有の参加型の作品を制作する予定です。個々の作品は、地元の観客が新しいアイデア、疑問、懸念、要望を表現するためのプラットフォームとなるだけでなく、「家」としての場所の意味を議論し、危機の時代にグローバル化した世界における帰属の概念について考えるためのものです。 2022年7月15日から8月14日まで、招待アーティストは「KUMANONISUMU！2022」の枠内で、熊野地域の公共スペースにおいて芸術的戦略、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスを展開します。これらのプロセスは写真や映像で記録され、8月11日から14日の期間、旧中学校と熊野市文化交流センターで最終展覧会が開催される予定です。また、展覧会と並行して、さまざまなディスカッションやイベント、ワークショップが開催される予定です。 リサーチ段階から展覧会終了まで、プロジェクト全体を通して、アーティストとキュレーター双方の発見、出会い、体験が記録され、オンラインブログで公開されます。

展示会場となった旧神上中学校にて桜祭りが行われます。KUMANONISUMU!2022 で参加してくれたミヒャエラ ・ファルケンシュタイナーさんとリヌス・リープラーさんの作品が三年生の教室で見られます。２０２２年夏に開催中に来られなかった方、桜祭りにおよりの際アートもお楽しみください：）

KUMANONISUMU ! 2022 is an artproject that will take place in the small Japanese town of Kumano in the prefecture of Mie. A selection of local and international artists have been invited to investigate the cultural, economic and ecological effects of the regions depopulation. Focusing on the abandoned and empty spaces of the region the artists will develop site specific, participatory interventions.
The individual works will serve as a platform for the local audience to express new ideas, questions, concerns and desires, but also to discuss the meaning of a place as "home" and reflect on the idea of belonging in a globalized world in times of crises.

From July 15 to August 14, 2022 the invited artists will develop artistic strategies, installations and performances in public spaces of the Kumano region within the framework of the KUMANONISUMU ! 2022. These processes will be documented in photographs and videos, and a final exhibition will be held at the former junior high school and the Kumano City Cultural Exchange Center in the period from August 11th to 14th. Various discussions, events and workshops will take place alongside the exhibition.
